What the app stores on your device

• Connection details for the disks you add: address, port, shared folder, username and password. These are saved in the app's own preferences on your device so it can reconnect without asking you again. They are never transmitted anywhere except to the disk you are connecting to.
• A cache of thumbnails and of files you have opened, so the app does not download them twice. You can clear it at any time in Settings.
• Your display preferences: the Day or Night theme, the sort order, whether hidden files are shown.

About the stored password

The password is kept in the iOS Keychain, which the system encrypts and which other apps cannot read. It is not stored in the app's ordinary preferences. It is restored to a new device only from an encrypted backup, and it is removed when you delete the connection or the app.

Permissions the app asks for

• Local Network. Used to find disks on your home network automatically, so you do not have to type an address. The app only looks for file-sharing services (SMB, FTP and WebDAV).
• Photos. Requested only when you choose to upload a photo to your disk, or to save a copy of one from the disk back to your device. The app does not read your photo library otherwise.

What the app sends to us

PonteDisk sends us a short message on four occasions, so we know whether people manage to get connected at all — that is the step most people struggle with:

• the first time the app is opened;
• the first time it connects to a disk successfully;
• the first time the sample disk is opened;
• if three connection attempts fail in a row.

Each message contains only: a random identifier created on your device, the app version, your device's language and region, whether it is an iPhone or an iPad, which kind of connection was used (SMB, FTP or WebDAV), and — for a failure — a short category such as "wrong password" or "timeout".

It never contains the address of your disk, the name of the shared folder, your username, your password, or the name of any file. Those stay on your device. The identifier is generated locally, is tied to the installation and not to you, and is gone when you delete the app.

These messages go to a private team channel of ours (Slack). There is no analytics or advertising provider involved, and nothing is sold, shared or used to build a profile.

What we never do

• We do not collect, receive or store any of your files, photos or videos.
• We do not use advertising, ad networks or cross-app tracking of any kind.
• We do not sell or share anything with third parties.

Children

PonteDisk is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone.

Deleting your data

Removing a saved connection in Settings deletes its details from the device. Deleting the app removes everything it stored, including the cache.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.

Che cosa resta sul tuo dispositivo

• I dati dei dischi che aggiungi: indirizzo, porta, cartella condivisa, nome utente e password. Restano nelle preferenze dell'app sul tuo dispositivo, così non devi riscriverli ogni volta. Non vengono mai inviati altrove, se non al disco a cui ti stai collegando.
• Una copia temporanea delle miniature e dei file che hai aperto, per non scaricarli due volte. Puoi cancellarla quando vuoi da Impostazioni.
• Le tue preferenze: tema Giorno o Notte, ordinamento, file nascosti sì o no.

Sulla password salvata

La password sta nel portachiavi di iOS, che il sistema tiene cifrato e che le altre app non possono leggere. Non è conservata nelle normali preferenze dell'app. Su un dispositivo nuovo viene ripristinata solo da un backup cifrato, e sparisce quando elimini il collegamento o l'app.

I permessi che l'app chiede

• Rete locale. Serve a trovare da solo i dischi in casa, così non devi scrivere un indirizzo. L'app cerca soltanto i servizi di condivisione file (SMB, FTP e WebDAV).
• Foto. Viene chiesto solo quando scegli tu di caricare una foto sul disco, o di salvarne una copia dal disco al dispositivo. Per il resto l'app non guarda nel tuo rullino.

Che cosa ci manda l'app

PonteDisk ci manda un breve messaggio in quattro momenti, per sapere se le persone riescono davvero a collegarsi — è il passaggio su cui quasi tutti si bloccano:

• la prima volta che l'app viene aperta;
• la prima volta che si collega a un disco con successo;
• la prima volta che si apre il disco di esempio;
• se tre tentativi di collegamento falliscono di fila.

Ogni messaggio contiene soltanto: un identificativo casuale creato sul tuo dispositivo, la versione dell'app, lingua e paese del dispositivo, se è un iPhone o un iPad, il tipo di collegamento usato (SMB, FTP o WebDAV) e — in caso di errore — una categoria breve come «password sbagliata» o «tempo scaduto».

Non contiene mai l'indirizzo del tuo disco, il nome della cartella condivisa, il tuo nome utente, la tua password o il nome di un file. Quelli restano sul tuo dispositivo. L'identificativo nasce in locale, è legato all'installazione e non a te, e sparisce quando disinstalli l'app.

Questi messaggi arrivano su un nostro canale interno (Slack). Non c'è di mezzo nessun servizio di statistiche o di pubblicità, e niente viene venduto, condiviso o usato per costruire un profilo.

Quello che non facciamo mai

• Non raccogliamo né conserviamo i tuoi file, le tue foto o i tuoi video.
• Non usiamo pubblicità, circuiti pubblicitari o tracciamento fra app.
• Non vendiamo e non condividiamo niente con terzi.

Bambini

PonteDisk non si rivolge ai bambini e non raccoglie dati personali da nessuno.

Cancellare i tuoi dati

Eliminando un collegamento salvato da Impostazioni, i suoi dati spariscono dal dispositivo. Disinstallando l'app si cancella tutto quello che aveva conservato, copia temporanea compresa.
